Actually, very fitting for the area. The McCain/Palin yard signs outnumber the Obama/Biden signs here by like a 6 to 1 ratio. Damn suburbs.  It’s also why I’m still shocked that Palatine hosted a “Fighting Bob” style fest.

I talked to a friend in the area, he says it’s nuts. He’s estimating 7+ inches at his house, which is not too far from where that retention pond is located at. And judging from the radar, he’s probably right.

That’s the GRLevel 3 display of the KLOT Doppler Radar estimate of the rainfall as of 1:50am to the left. I haven’t talked to anyone in Palatine yet, though, so I’m not sure of the situation just down the road.

Chicago Local Storm Reports as of 2am — Palatine isn’t mentioned in them, just Arlington Heights and a bunch of other surrounding areas.
